Finance Manager

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to lead the finance function of a successful medical practice in Bradford. You will have autonomy to shape financial reporting, controls and strategic insight, working directly with the owners and senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a finance team of four while overseeing day‑to‑day finance operations.
• Produce accurate, timely management information for owners and senior leadership.
• Improve reporting on profitability, margins, budgets and overall performance.
• Monitor performance against budgets and advise on corrective actions.
• Support long‑term planning, forecasting and strategic decision‑making.
• Manage relationships with external stakeholders such as accountants, banks, HMRC and NHS England.
• Ensure strong financial controls, compliance and audit readiness.
• Review processes and identify efficiency improvements across the finance function.
• Communicate financial information clearly to non‑finance colleagues.
• Foster a positive, accountable, high‑performing culture within the finance team.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or Management Accountant.
• Strong background in budgeting, cash‑flow management, financial reporting and compliance.
• Ability to take ownership, lead a small team and provide strategic financial insight.
• Experience in NHS, healthcare or medical sector is advantageous but not essential.
