Finance Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Manager to join our small, passionate team in Bowburn, Durham. This newly created position will allow you to take ownership of the day‑to‑day finance function while supporting broader operational and administrative activities.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile bank and credit‑card accounts and maintain debtor and creditor ledgers.
• Manage credit‑control processes using Chaser software.
• Post month‑end journals and assist with month‑end closing activities.
• Handle customer account queries and resolve issues efficiently.
• Support the preparation, filing and management of ISO documentation.
• Provide general administrative support across the business, including assisting engineers and colleagues with day‑to‑day queries.
• Maintain accurate financial records and produce regular reporting information.
• Contribute to operational process improvements and undertake general office administration as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in finance, accounts, office management or operational finance.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and journal entries.
• Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail.
• Confident communicator able to build relationships at all levels.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and thrive in a hands‑on, office‑based environment.
