Finance Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join a well‑established, family‑owned business operating across retail, hospitality and visitor attractions. Working closely with the Directors, you will help drive financial performance and support strategic decision‑making in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day financial operations and produce accurate monthly management accounts.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and cash‑flow reports.
• Oversee purchase and sales ledgers, VAT returns and ensure HMRC compliance.
• Administer payroll and pension schemes.
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain robust financial controls.
• Liaise with external accountants and auditors.
• Provide financial analysis and commercial insight to influence business decisions.
• Identify process improvements and support strategic planning for growth.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a Finance Manager or senior finance role.
• AAT qualified, ACCA/CIMA qualified, part‑qualified or qualified by experience.
• Strong commercial awareness and analytical ability.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently while supporting a wider management team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as Sage or Xero.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
