Finance Manager – Management Accounts & Business Partnering

About the role

Jacob Grey is seeking a Finance Manager to join a fast‑growing business in Harlow. The role combines monthly accounting, team leadership and commercial business partnering, with a clear pathway to senior finance positions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed monthly management accounts, including balance‑sheet reconciliations, P&L, accruals, pre‑payments and journal adjustments.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide commentary for the board.
• Support year‑end reporting, statutory accounting and audit liaison.
• Manage VAT and HMRC compliance, cash‑flow forecasting and budgeting/re‑forecasting cycles.
• Work with external accountants, banks and advisors on tax returns and statutory requirements.
• Lead and mentor a small finance team, overseeing all transactional duties.
• Provide commercial insight to support strategic decisions and future site expansions.

Required profile

• Currently studying or qualified (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with demonstrable experience preparing management accounts.
• Commercially minded with a strong analytical approach.
• Ability to work autonomously and support a growing business.
