Finance Manager Trading

About the role

This senior Finance Manager position sits within Superdrug’s Commercial Finance team and focuses on the Trading function. You will partner with Trading, Merchandising and Supply Chain to provide financial insight, drive performance and support strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Own all financial aspects of company stock, including analysis of stock targets, slow‑moving inventory and stock provision calculations.
• Manage month‑end accounting, KPI reporting and present financial updates to senior stakeholders.
• Produce weekly and monthly performance reports with commentary.
• Support Cosmetics & Fragrance Trading teams by analysing sales, margin and promotional performance.
• Lead financial modelling for strategic trading projects, tenders and initiatives.
• Drive the annual budget and quarterly forecast processes for stock and related trading areas.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting and control.
• Coach and mentor a direct report, fostering development within the team.

Required profile

• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
• Excellent reporting capability and confidence using financial systems.
• Proven experience in senior finance roles within retail or trading environments.
• Leadership experience, including coaching and mentoring staff.
