Finance Manager - UK

About the role

A hands-on leadership role leading management accounting for a portfolio of clients. You will work closely with client leadership teams to deliver accurate, timely management information that supports decision-making across multiple sites, while helping to shape and strengthen financial processes as their businesses grow.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end management accounts process, including month-end close, journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare and present monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts and variance analysis to senior client stakeholders
• Provide commercial insight and financial analysis for multi-site and group client structures
• Lead, mentor and develop the management accounting team
• Drive continuous improvement in reporting, controls and systems
• Support budgeting and forecasting cycles with site and operational leads
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors and other professionals as required
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal financial controls

Required profile

• ACCA qualified (essential)
• At least 8 years of relevant accounting experience, including audit experience
• At least 3 years of management accounting experience, including work with multi-site, franchise or group structures
• Strong financial accounting and management accounting skills, preparing statements for SMEs and self-employed clients
• English at C1 level
• Experience in a practice environment or with UK-based clients is an advantage

Required skills

• Strong Excel and cloud-based accounting software (e.g. Xero); consolidation across multiple entities is an advantage
• Ability to explain financial and tax concepts clearly and build client relationships
• Attention to detail, organisation and ability to manage several client portfolios and deadlines
