Finance Project Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Project Manager to join a leading infrastructure and engineering organisation delivering large‑scale projects across the UK. The role will combine financial stewardship with strategic partnership, influencing project outcomes and senior decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary finance partner for project teams, providing insight, challenge and support to drive performance.
• Lead, mentor and develop a project‑focused finance team.
• Review project financials, identify risks and opportunities, and maximise profitability.
• Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders in finance, commercial and operations.
• Oversee monthly reporting, forecasting cycles and financial planning.
• Ensure robust financial governance, controls and continuous process improvement.
• Lead external and client audit activities, working closely with project and finance teams.
• Support year‑end reporting and detailed project performance reviews.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Experience in a project‑based environment such as construction, engineering or infrastructure.
• Proven business‑partnering ability with confidence to influence senior stakeholders.
• Commercially minded with the ability to turn data into actionable insight.
• Experience leading or mentoring finance teams.
