Finance System Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a Finance System Analyst to join a fast‑growing professional services firm in Bristol. The role combines payroll administration, financial reporting and system maintenance to support business decisions and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage payroll administration, time & attendance, absence management, employee loans and Helping Hands schemes.
• Support payroll governance through budget monitoring, data integrity checks and compliance controls.
• Review payroll documentation and maintain accurate personnel records.
• Coordinate monthly and annual pension reporting, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Administer time & attendance systems and oversee workforce data management.
• Process and reconcile employee expenses, mileage claims and corporate credit‑card transactions.
• Produce monthly financial reports to aid business decision‑making.
• Maintain business systems, databases and master data for operational efficiency.
• Provide payroll cover during year‑end activities, audits and contract mobilisations.
• Assist with accounts support, year‑end audits and financial reporting.
• Support ISO compliance through documentation, process reviews and continuous improvement.
• Handle system administration tasks, user access management and insurance database maintenance.

Required profile

• Graduate in a relevant discipline or AAT student with strong analytical abilities.
• Clear and precise communication skills.
• Excellent organisational capabilities.
• IT literate with the ability to use a range of systems.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Ability to explain complex financial information to non‑financial colleagues.
• Proactive, self‑motivated team member.
• Experience of collating, preparing and inputting data is desirable.
