Finance System Implementation Lead

About the role

Robertson Bell is seeking an experienced Finance System Implementation Lead on a 9‑month contract to drive a high‑profile transformation programme. The role will be hybrid, allowing you to work both on‑site and remotely while leading the delivery of a new finance system that underpins future growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end implementation of a new finance system, from planning through go‑live and post‑implementation support.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, risk registers and governance documentation.
• Collaborate with finance and operational teams to capture business requirements and translate them into system solutions.
• Coordinate internal stakeholders and third‑party implementation partners throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee data migration, system configuration, testing and user‑acceptance activities.
• Ensure the system supports reporting, budgeting, project and grant management, billing and broader organisational needs.
• Lead change‑management activities, including training, communications and adoption of new processes.
• Provide regular progress updates to senior leadership, manage risks and resolve issues promptly.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and maximise long‑term benefits.

Required profile

• Proven track record of successfully leading finance system implementations from inception to delivery.
• Strong knowledge of finance processes such as financial reporting, budgeting and transactional finance.
• Experience delivering complex transformation projects involving multiple departments and stakeholder groups.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with confidence to engage senior leaders and external suppliers.
• Solid project governance experience, including planning, risk management and reporting.
