Finance Systems Accountant – Financial Close

About the role

This permanent position is for a Finance Systems Accountant who will own and optimise a market‑leading financial close and reconciliation platform within a large international organisation. Working in a hybrid model, you will partner with finance, systems and operational teams to drive automation, strengthen controls and improve reporting efficiency across a multi‑entity environment.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, govern and optimise the financial close platform for month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end cycles.
• Launch and manage close cycles across multiple entities, monitoring progress and removing bottlenecks.
• Maintain task ownership, workflows and close governance while driving continuous improvement.
• Manage balance‑sheet reconciliation frameworks, account mappings and governance processes.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, audit requirements and support audit readiness.
• Act as lead administrator for system configuration, user access, security and data integrity.
• Liaise with software providers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and enhance ERP connectivity.
• Configure and optimise automation rules to improve Record‑to‑Report efficiency.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or part‑qualified).
• Strong understanding of Record‑to‑Report processes.
• Experience managing balance‑sheet reconciliations and financial controls.
• Previous exposure to finance systems, close management or finance transformation projects.
