Financial Accountant – Hybrid, Solihull

About the role

We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join a well‑established finance team in Solihull. This hybrid role offers the chance for a part‑qualified accountant to develop expertise across reporting, controls, business partnering and finance projects.

Key responsibilities

• Support the month‑end close process, including balance‑sheet reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and strengthen financial controls.
• Assist with group reporting and the preparation of statutory accounts.
• Manage fixed‑asset accounting, depreciation and CAPEX reporting.
• Provide financial analysis and insight to business stakeholders.
• Contribute to finance transformation projects and process improvements.
• Help implement new accounting standards and control frameworks.
• Prepare audit schedules and support external audit requirements.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
• Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of UK GAAP and financial accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence using finance systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
• Effective communication and relationship‑building with finance and non‑finance stakeholders.
• Proactive, adaptable and keen to drive improvements.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Experience with Dynamics 365 or a similar ERP system.
