Financial Accountant

About the role

We are partnering with a growing Milton Keynes business to hire a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will own the month‑end close, VAT returns, balance‑sheet reconciliations, year‑end statutory accounts and the annual audit.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review month‑end financial reports.
• Submit quarterly VAT returns.
• Reconcile balance‑sheet accounts.
• Compile year‑end statutory accounts.
• Coordinate the annual external audit.
• Lead and develop a small team of two Assistant Accountants, an Accounts Payable Clerk, and a Sales Ledger Clerk/Credit Controller.

Required profile

• Newly qualified accountant with practice training.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Inquisitive mindset and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights.

What we offer

• Competitive salary of £55,000‑£65,000 (depending on experience)
