Financial Accountant – Temp to Perm (Heywood)

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a global manufacturing business. The role starts on a temporary basis with the intention of becoming permanent, offering a hands‑on position where you will work independently with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations.
• Perform intercompany reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Review payroll and payroll journals (not payroll processing).
• Complete P11D reporting.
• Prepare cash flow reporting and cash flow forecasts.
• Maintain the fixed asset register.
• Monitor Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable governance, including ageing analysis and reporting.
• Support the preparation of statutory accounts.
• Assist with external and internal audits.
• Complete ONS reporting requirements.
• Support indirect tax activities including VAT, Corporation Tax and RDEC.
• Upload financial accounting data into OneStream (corporate reporting system).
• Produce variance analysis across the balance sheet and profit & loss.
• Support month‑end close and wider finance team activities.
• Analyse and manipulate large financial datasets to identify trends and improve reporting accuracy.

Required profile

• Confident and proactive with the ability to work independently.
• Experience in a Financial Accountant or Financial Accounting role.
• Strong financial control and accounting experience.
• Excellent problem‑solving mindset and willingness to take ownership.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, complex formulas).
• SAP Business One (SAP B1) – preferred.
• OneStream corporate reporting system.
