Financial Accountant – US GAAP (Edinburgh)

About the role

This temporary position supports the Accounting & Finance team of a leading life‑science organisation in Edinburgh. You will ensure accurate financial reporting under US GAAP and help the business meet its regulatory and tax obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Reconcile general‑ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting for the department.
• Ensure tax compliance and assist with tax filings.
• Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial insights.
• Maintain audit‑ready documentation and records.
• Identify and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as ICAS, ACCA or CIMA.
• Strong, non‑negotiable knowledge of US GAAP.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving ability.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, temporary environment.
