Financial Adviser – Path to Practice Ownership

About the role

This is a full‑time Financial Adviser position based in Edinburgh, offering a clear route to owning an established financial planning practice. You will start as an employed adviser, managing an existing client portfolio while working closely with the current owner.

Key responsibilities

• Manage approximately 70 client relationships transferred from the current owner.
• Provide comprehensive financial advice and planning services to existing clients.
• Generate new business through referrals, professional networks and proactive outreach.
• Collaborate with the owner to ensure a smooth hand‑over of client relationships.
• Demonstrate commercial acumen and business‑owner mindset over the first 2‑3 years.
• Participate in a structured acquisition process to eventually purchase the practice.

Required profile

• Qualified Financial Adviser with experience in financial planning.
• Strong commercial instinct and ability to identify growth opportunities.
• Proven relationship‑building skills and client‑service focus.
• Ambition to transition from employee to business owner.
