Financial Control Analyst

About the role

Monzo is looking for a proactive and commercially‑minded accountant to join its Financial Control team. This position is ideal for a newly qualified accountant with an audit background who wants to help build a world‑class finance function as the business scales across new markets and products.

Key responsibilities

• Own the month‑end close process, including lease accounting, accrual schedules and inventory management.
• Prepare and analyse group consolidation and management commentary.
• Collaborate with engineers and data teams to automate reporting and reduce manual effort.
• Leverage SAP S/4HANA features to optimise the general ledger.
• Develop and run SQL queries to support efficient, scalable reporting.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with recent audit experience.
• Strong commercial awareness and enthusiasm for fintech.
• Ability to understand complex products and translate them into clear financial insights.
