Financial Controller – Automotive Retail Group

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to join a growing automotive retail group in North England. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will oversee the finance function across multiple dealership sites and help drive financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the accounts departments across several locations
• Produce timely and accurate management accounts
• Manage budgets, forecasts and financial planning activities
• Ensure robust financial controls and compliance at all sites
• Provide financial insights and performance analysis to departmental heads
• Lead, mentor and develop the accounts teams
• Liaise with external auditors and other stakeholders

Required profile

• Strong automotive retail experience (essential)
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Strong leadership and communication abilities
• Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) – QBE candidates also considered
• Commercially aware with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
• Suitable for a current Financial Controller in the automotive sector or a Management Accountant from a large dealership looking to progress
