Financial Controller – Finance Operations Leader

About the role

The Financial Controller will drive optimal operational performance by providing decision support to key stakeholders and ensuring the internal control environment aligns with group policy. This senior finance role leads finance processes, governance, and standardisation across all operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the local finance team to achieve full potential.
• Own the internal control environment, addressing risks and maintaining balance‑sheet integrity through detailed monthly reviews.
• Support stakeholders with factual information for optimal decision‑making, including preparation of business cases and capital investment proposals.
• Optimize financial performance by managing the budget process, forecasting, and conversion reconciliation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as margin accretion, net revenue management, and site conversion.
• Act as gatekeeper for the site capital process, overseeing planning, prioritisation, risk monitoring, and project timelines.
• Contribute to finance team improvements in controls, efficiency, and ways of working.
• Lead data‑driven projects to generate insights and recommendations for senior leadership.
• Sponsor inclusion, diversity, sustainability, and cyber‑security initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in finance with the ability to develop and motivate teams.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls, balance‑sheet management, and risk mitigation.
• Excellent analytical and commercial acumen to support strategic decisions.
• Experience managing budgets, forecasts, and capital investment processes.
• Ability to drive continuous improvement and implement finance governance standards.
