Financial Controller – Full‑time, Saltash

About the role

This permanent position is based in Saltash and offers a senior finance professional the chance to lead the finance function of a growing SME. You will work closely with senior leadership, influencing strategic decisions and driving commercial growth.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and year‑end statutory accounts.
• Produce financial reporting, analysis and multi‑currency cash‑flow forecasts.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and management accounting support.
• Provide financial planning and commercial finance insight to senior leaders.
• Conduct product costing analysis and support cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Manage VAT, PAYE, pensions, payroll and statutory compliance.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and overall finance operations.
• Lead and develop the finance team and wider accounts function.
• Liaise with overseas subsidiaries, external accountants, banks and advisors.
• Support strategic business decisions through insightful financial reporting.
• Assist with ERP implementation and act as a super‑user for ongoing development.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Senior Finance Manager, Finance Business Partner or Management Accountant.
• Background in manufacturing, technology, engineering or multi‑site environments.
• Strong commercial mindset with the ability to partner with senior leaders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a varied, commercially focused finance function.
