Financial Controller

About the role

Systemiq is seeking a Financial Controller to lead its global finance team from London. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, you will oversee month‑end and year‑end reporting for UK and overseas subsidiaries and support the organisation’s growth into new regions.

Key responsibilities

• Own global reporting, delivering accurate consolidated monthly, quarterly and annual management and statutory reports.
• Manage period‑end accounting and consolidation for both management and statutory purposes.
• Lead the annual group audit, acting as the primary contact for auditors and ensuring timely completion.
• File mandatory financial statements and tax returns (CIT, VAT) for all global subsidiaries in collaboration with local accountants and BPOs.
• Oversee local audits and compliance matters across the group, navigating complex statutory accounting, tax laws and transfer pricing.
• Maintain internal controls and approve all financial outgoings, including accounts payable and exceptional transactions.
• Manage the finance transactions team, supported by the manager of accounts receivable and payable.
• Collaborate with in‑house legal counsel on governance, group structure and risk management issues.
• Lead a dispersed group of local finance professionals, continuously improving systems, processes and efficiency.

Required profile

• Practice‑trained finance professional with experience in diverse, international contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to implement best‑practice financial controls and drive change.
• Comfortable working in a young, entrepreneurial environment focused on sustainability.
