Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Controller to join the UK operation of a leading global Real Estate and Infrastructure group. Based in London, you will work closely with a small finance team and report directly to the Head of Office for the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the financial expert for a portfolio of holding and financing companies, preparing and reviewing quarterly bookkeeping, management accounts, budgets and financial statements under both UK GAAP and IFRS.
• Prepare US tax/FED reporting packages and ensure compliance with all statutory deadlines.
• Manage annual audits, coordinate with external service providers, and guarantee the accuracy of their reporting.
• Conduct financial covenant testing, monitor loan terms, and oversee investment and financing cash‑flow forecasts.
• Support investment transactions such as acquisitions, exits, refinancings and restructurings, working with tax, legal and compliance advisors.
• Build and maintain relationships with auditors, tax advisors and fund stakeholders, and present financial information to the board.
• Assist the team manager with ad‑hoc requests and special projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field.
• Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, ICAS) – partially qualified candidates may be considered if exceptional.
• 3‑5 years of experience in private equity, asset management, PFI or infrastructure finance, or at a medium‑size audit or trust services firm.
• Strong curiosity about private credit, equity, real‑estate and fund structures.
• Proven ability to prioritize multiple workstreams and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication, relationship‑building and autonomous working skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Hands‑on experience with UK GAAP and IFRS reporting.
• Consolidation of financial statements under both standards.
• Preparation of US tax/FED reporting packages.
• Financial covenant testing and loan‑term monitoring.
• Cash‑flow forecasting for investment and financing activities.
