Financial Controller

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function at Soapworks as we scale from £20m to £70m in bar soap production. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be a key member of the leadership team, driving financial controls, reporting and strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust financial controls and accurate, timely reporting.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts and variance analysis to support investment decisions.
• Shape long‑term financial strategy and manage risk to safeguard profitability.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team.
• Work closely with commercial and operational teams, using BI tools to provide actionable insights.

Required profile

• Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA with solid experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record of leading a finance team.
• Experience with business intelligence tools.
• Background in food, personal‑care or contract manufacturing is desirable.

Required skills

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification.
• Proficiency with BI tools.

What we offer

• Salary £65,000‑£75,000 per annum, DOE.
• 33 days holiday, increasing with service.
