Financial Controller

About the role

Harper May Ltd is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the finance function of its fast‑growing technology business in London. Reporting to the CFO, you will own the month‑end close, produce management accounts and provide insight that drives commercial decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly close process, prepare management accounts and perform variance analysis.
• Build and maintain the finance control framework, including reconciliations, journal entries and balance‑sheet sign‑off.
• Lead statutory accounts preparation and coordinate external audit delivery.
• Manage payroll, tax compliance and cash‑flow monitoring.
• Develop financial forecasts and cash‑flow models in partnership with the leadership team.
• Recruit, mentor and grow a small finance team as the business scales.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance role, preferably in a technology or fast‑growing environment.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS principles and revenue recognition.
• Demonstrated ability to lead the close cycle and manage external audits.
• Excellent communicator able to translate finance data for non‑finance audiences.
