Financial Controller

About the role

Orka Financial is partnering with a growing global tech business to recruit a Financial Controller. The role will oversee financial operations across four group entities, reporting to the CFO and leading both UK and offshore finance teams in a fast‑paced, change‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the CFO and senior leadership to support strategic decision‑making.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning for the group.
• Provide commercial analysis and insight to improve profitability.
• Analyse financial trends, KPIs and operational performance.
• Drive process improvements, automation and reporting efficiencies.
• Lead, mentor and develop UK and offshore finance teams.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and consolidated reports.
• Manage month‑end close, journals, accruals, reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Oversee cash‑flow forecasting, treasury and working capital management.
• Manage accounts payable, receivable and transactional finance processes.
• Ensure strong financial controls and compliance with statutory and tax requirements.
• Coordinate year‑end audit and manage external auditor relationships.
• Support development and optimisation of ERP and financial reporting systems.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with hands‑on financial control experience.
• Proven ability to manage a small finance team in a dynamic environment.
• Experience overseeing finance for multiple entities and working with offshore teams.
• Strong understanding of cash‑flow management, budgeting and forecasting.
• Ability to adapt to change and support acquisition projects.
