Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a technically competent yet commercially aware Financial Controller to join an ambitious international business in Watford. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the senior leadership team, you will own the finance function and help shape the company’s next phase of growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a small finance team.
• Produce monthly management accounts and oversee statutory reporting and audit.
• Consolidate financial reporting across multiple international entities.
• Present financial performance and commercial insight to the Board.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and KPI reporting.
• Drive finance transformation, systems improvements and process enhancements.
• Strengthen financial controls and oversee VAT, corporation tax and asset finance/hire‑purchase agreements.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance or similar senior finance role.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge combined with commercial awareness.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and improve finance processes.
• Experience in finance transformation, international reporting or private‑equity‑backed businesses is advantageous.
