Financial Controller

About the role

Synchronicity Earth, a global conservation charity, is seeking a Financial Controller to lead its finance function. You will head a small, high‑performing finance team and act as a trusted adviser to the Leadership Team and Trustees, shaping financial processes that support the organisation’s growth and impact.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the annual audit and statutory reporting process.
• Own budgeting, forecasting and monthly management reporting.
• Provide strategic financial insight to senior leaders and Trustees.
• Manage treasury, cash‑flow forecasting and investment reporting.
• Improve finance systems, reporting and automation.
• Develop and mentor a collaborative finance team while building strong cross‑functional relationships.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Proven experience leading finance in a complex organisation.
• Experience in statutory reporting, audit, business partnering, financial planning and team leadership.
• Passion for improving systems and using data to support decision‑making.
• Charity experience is welcome but not essential; a collaborative mindset is essential.
