Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function for a growing manufacturing business in March, Cambridgeshire. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will provide commercial and operational financial support across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts and oversee the month‑end close process.
• Maintain balance‑sheet integrity, financial controls and regulatory compliance.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management activities.
• Monitor working capital, stock levels, debtors and creditors.
• Deliver profitability, costing and margin analysis to support pricing and investment decisions.
• Develop KPI reporting and drive improvements to financial processes and systems.
• Lead and develop the finance team while partnering with operational and commercial stakeholders.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Previous experience as a Financial Controller or in senior finance leadership.
• Strong management‑accounting, budgeting and forecasting capabilities.
• Commercially minded with the ability to influence stakeholders.
• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG or a similar operational environment is desirable but not essential.
