Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function of a fast‑growing travel business. Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team and Board, you will provide strategic financial insight while managing a high‑performing finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of finance professionals.
• Own budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow processes.
• Prepare Board reports and present financial performance to senior stakeholders.
• Manage statutory compliance, including CAA, ABTA, VAT, audit and other travel‑industry regulations.
• Oversee management accounts, variance analysis and financial reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement of finance systems and processes.
• Partner with other departments to provide financial insight for strategic decisions.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Minimum two years’ experience as a Financial Controller or Finance Manager within the travel industry.
• Proven experience managing and developing finance teams.
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to communicate financial information to non‑finance stakeholders.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
