Financial Controller

About the role

Our client, a specialist manufacturer with a global customer base, is looking for a Financial Controller to support the Finance Director. You will take ownership of financial and management reporting and oversee all finance transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a small finance team and supervise accounts payable and receivable.
• Authorise and approve payment runs and manage weekly cash flow.
• Oversee the company payroll process and inter‑company reconciliations across group entities.
• Finalise bank reconciliations and supervise the project costing review tracker to ensure agreed margins.
• Produce cost reports for large projects and conduct project variance analysis.
• Perform departmental margin analysis on a monthly and year‑to‑date basis.
• Maintain finance and sales trackers for accurate forecasting.
• Ensure contracts are in place for all projects and manage the group’s taxation affairs, including quarterly VAT returns.
• Prepare and present annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Financial Controller, Senior Finance Manager or Head of Finance roles.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
• Strong understanding of finance processes and controls.
