Financial Controller

About the role

We are partnering with a leading organisation in Milton Keynes to recruit a Financial Controller. The role offers full ownership of financial control, reporting and governance, and provides a platform to influence strategic decisions while leading a small finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Prepare and deliver accurate financial and statutory reports.
• Maintain strong balance‑sheet control and oversee audit compliance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
• Identify and implement improvements to controls, processes and reporting.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to provide financial insight and drive performance.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Experience in a Big 4 or Top 10 practice, or equivalent technical grounding.
• Solid background in financial reporting and control under UK GAAP.
• Ambition to progress towards a Finance Director role.
