Financial Controller

About the role

Glenholme, a specialist healthcare provider, is seeking a Financial Controller to join its fast‑growing, multi‑site business in Eton, Berkshire. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will own financial control, statutory reporting and governance while influencing both operational and strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all financial control activities across the organisation.
• Own monthly balance‑sheet reviews, reconciliations and month‑end/year‑end close processes.
• Prepare consolidated management reports and finance sections of the Board pack.
• Produce statutory reports, investor updates, VAT returns and other external filings.
• Manage the external audit process and drive continuous improvement of controls and reporting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow planning.
• Partner with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insight and challenge.
• Manage and develop a small overseas finance team, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Act as the primary contact for auditors, tax advisors and other external stakeholders.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualification.
• Strong experience in financial control and statutory reporting.
• Background in healthcare or other multi‑site environments is a plus.
• Proven ability to manage and develop finance teams.
• Excellent communication, influencing and commercial mindset.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑moving, changing environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with Sage 200.
