Financial Controller

About the role

Planteria Group is looking for a Financial Controller to lead its Finance function at the Henham headquarters. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will own day‑to‑day financial insight, controls and reporting, supporting confident business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high‑performing Finance team of five.
• Own month‑end and year‑end close processes and produce accurate management accounts.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting and re‑forecasting in partnership with department leaders.
• Manage cash‑flow, working capital, accounts payable/receivable and credit control.
• Ensure robust financial controls, balance‑sheet reconciliations and statutory compliance (VAT, PAYE, CIS, corporation tax).
• Partner with business stakeholders to challenge performance and improve profitability.

Required profile

• Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience leading a Finance function in a fast‑paced SME environment.
• Track record of building and managing high‑performing finance teams.
• Commercial mindset with ability to influence business decisions.
• Proactive approach to continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
