Financial Controller – Lead Finance Team

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Controller to join a high‑performing finance function at a Blackpool‑based business. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will lead a small finance team and play a key part in shaping strategy and driving commercial success.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop a small finance team, overseeing training and performance.
• Lead the month‑end close, produce management accounts and provide insightful commentary.
• Prepare and own the annual budgets and regular forecasts.
• Coordinate the year‑end process and work with external auditors.
• Deliver financial reports and analysis to senior management for strategic decision‑making.
• Identify and implement improvements to financial systems, processes and controls.
• Partner with non‑finance heads of departments to provide financial insight and influence decisions.

Required profile

• Fully qualified CIMA, ACA or ACCA professional.
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or equivalent senior finance role.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to work cross‑functionally.
• Demonstrated staff management and supervisory experience.
