Financial Controller – Manufacturing & European Operations

About the role

We are seeking a senior Financial Controller to lead finance for a flagship manufacturing site in Dartford and support broader European operations for a leading international FMCG manufacturer. This high‑profile position sits on both the site leadership team and the UK finance leadership team, reporting to the UK Finance Director.

Key responsibilities

• Lead finance for the Dartford manufacturing site (approximately 70% of focus)
• Support European manufacturing operations through investment analysis, business cases, capital projects and performance improvement (approximately 30% of focus)
• Partner with site leadership to drive operational performance and cost optimisation
• Deliver manufacturing cost analysis, challenge operational performance and improve costing methodologies
• Modernise reporting and financial processes while driving continuous improvement

Required profile

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Significant experience in manufacturing or FMCG finance
• Previous role as Factory, Plant or Manufacturing Controller
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing costing and operational finance
• Experience supporting capital investment and business case development
• Proactive, hands‑on leadership style with ability to work independently
• Excellent communication and senior stakeholder partnership skills
