Financial Controller - Manufacturing

About the role

This position offers a hands‑on opportunity to lead financial control for a fast‑growing manufacturing business. You will own day‑to‑day financial processes, provide commercial insight and support senior stakeholders as the company expands.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the month‑end close, delivering accurate and timely financial reports.
• Own year‑end processes and coordinate audit preparation.
• Support manufacturing finance activities such as product costing, inventory management and operational performance analysis.
• Review, strengthen and maintain financial controls and procedures.
• Prepare management information and analyse key business performance trends.
• Partner with operational teams to improve financial understanding and decision‑making.
• Monitor balance‑sheet integrity and ensure high‑quality reconciliations.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and ad‑hoc financial analysis.
• Manage and develop finance team members where required.

Required profile

• Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Strong experience in the manufacturing sector.
• Broad exposure to month‑end and year‑end accounting.
• Excellent technical accounting knowledge with high attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proactive, adaptable approach and confidence to thrive in a growing business.

Required skills
