Financial Controller (Multi‑Site) – Care Sector

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the finance function of a growing care group operating several homes across Watford, Rickmansworth and Harrow. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will have a hands‑on influence on financial controls, reporting and strategic insight during a period of rapid development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead finance across multiple care homes and group entities.
• Prepare accurate monthly management accounts and Board reports.
• Enhance financial controls, reconciliations and reporting processes.
• Drive cash‑flow optimisation, forecasting and credit control.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning for the Group.
• Collaborate with operational managers to improve financial performance.
• Develop KPIs and meaningful management information.
• Review systems, identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
• Lead and develop the finance team while remaining actively involved in day‑to‑day activities.
• Act as a trusted finance partner to the Managing Director and Board.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or Group Financial Controller.
• Multi‑site/multi‑entity finance experience, preferably within care homes, healthcare or social care.
• Strong understanding of Local Authority and NHS funding arrangements is a plus.
• Hands‑on, problem‑solving attitude with a track record of building first‑class finance functions.
