About the role
We are seeking a commercially‑minded Financial Controller to join a growing organisation in Peterborough. This role sits at the heart of the business, providing strategic finance insight and partnering with operational teams to drive performance.
Key responsibilities
- Lead day‑to‑day financial control activities and ensure accurate management reporting.
- Deliver variance analysis, insightful commentary and maintain strong balance‑sheet oversight.
- Support year‑end reporting, statutory accounts preparation and audit processes.
- Partner with budget holders to provide practical financial guidance on margins, cash flow and costs.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and strategic financial planning.
- Apply financial due diligence to new initiatives and growth opportunities.
- Drive process improvement, financial governance and operational efficiency.
Required profile
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Proven experience in a financial control or similar finance role.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to influence stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive mindset.
