Financial Controller – £90k-100k, Car allowance, Bonus

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our team in Cheltenham. The role will oversee all financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, regulatory compliance and robust controls. You will work in a hybrid model, balancing office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with accounting standards.
• Manage the general ledger, accounts payable/receivable and payroll functions.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow monitoring activities.
• Develop, implement and maintain financial controls and ensure statutory compliance.
• Liaise with external auditors and manage audit processes.
• Oversee banking relationships, treasury activities and optimise cash management.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, allocating tasks and conducting performance reviews.
• Provide financial insights to senior management and support strategic decision‑making.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a financial controller or senior finance role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management.
