Financial Controller – Reading (travel to London)

About the role

Robert Half is recruiting a Financial Controller for a fast‑growing, PE‑backed TV/Film and sound production group. Based at the Reading head office, the role works directly with the CFO and includes occasional travel to London. You will shape finance processes, support FP&A, and provide board‑level reporting across newly acquired entities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts and ensure timely group‑wide financial consolidation.
• Maintain balance‑sheet integrity through regular reconciliations and reviews.
• Coordinate cash‑flow management and forecasting across multiple entities.
• Support the annual audit, liaising with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
• Drive month‑end and year‑end close processes, delivering clear P&L, cash‑flow and balance‑sheet performance insights.
• Develop annual budgets, periodic forecasts and improve FP&A reporting quality.
• Partner with operational leaders to provide commercial performance analysis and business‑partnering support.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with up‑to‑date knowledge of current accounting standards.
• Proven experience in full‑cycle accounting, financial consolidation and driving revenue growth while reducing costs.
• Commercially aware with the ability to work in a fast‑paced, growth‑focused environment.
• Experience in media production or private‑equity environments is beneficial but not essential.
