Financial Controller – Shipping Operations

About the role

This position is based at the EMEA headquarters of a private shipping business operating across three continents. Reporting to the Finance Director and working closely with the CEO, you will lead the finance function for a newly established UK operation.

Key responsibilities

• Own year‑end reporting and consolidation for the UK entity.
• Prepare, review and deliver management accounts.
• Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions.
• Collaborate with heads of department in global offices to ensure accurate reporting.
• Serve as the primary liaison for finance-related matters across the organisation.

Required profile

• Senior‑qualified accountant with experience in a global or shipping environment.
• Proven ability to engage with senior stakeholders.
• Strong ownership mindset and capability to develop robust reporting processes.
