Financial Controller – UK Finance Lead

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the UK finance function for an established international business. The role combines hands‑on controllership, commercial insight and team leadership, reporting to both local and overseas senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Own the month‑end, year‑end and statutory reporting cycle.
• Maintain robust financial controls and ensure balance‑sheet integrity.
• Provide costing, margin and performance analysis to support decision‑making.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management processes.
• Collaborate closely with operational and senior stakeholders across the business.
• Manage and develop a small finance team.
• Prepare group reporting for an overseas parent company.
• Identify and implement improvements to finance processes, systems and reporting.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA or CIMA) with 5+ years post‑qualification experience.
• Proven experience in fast‑paced environments, preferably within manufacturing or engineering.
• Experience working in an international business with overseas reporting requirements.

Required skills

• Strong ERP experience, particularly SAP.
