Financial Controller – West Cornwall

About the role

This senior Finance Controller role is based in West Cornwall, offering a competitive salary of £50,000‑£55,000. You will own the finance function, reporting directly to the senior leadership team and playing a central part in the business’s success.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards.
• Manage cash flow and forecasting to support financial stability and senior‑level decision making.
• Implement and maintain robust financial controls to protect assets and meet regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with department heads to develop budgets, monitor performance and provide insightful financial analysis.
• Liaise with external auditors during the annual audit and resolve any issues promptly.
• Stay up‑to‑date with changes in accounting regulations and best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a similar senior finance role, preferably in a fast‑paced, operationally complex environment.
• Strong commercial mindset with solid technical finance skills.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar platforms.
• Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA or CIMA) is advantageous but not essential.
