Financial Planner – Desk-Based (Edinburgh)

About the role

We are seeking a desk‑based Financial Planner to join a technology‑driven advice team in Edinburgh. You will work with an established client bank, providing holistic financial planning advice to individuals with investable assets of up to £250,000. The role combines client relationship management with proactive financial guidance in a hybrid working model.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop relationships with an existing client portfolio.
• Review clients’ financial needs regularly and deliver ongoing advice across investments, pensions, protection and retirement planning.
• Convert legacy clients to the firm’s ongoing service proposition.
• Identify and generate new business opportunities through referrals and proactive engagement.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the business to spot cross‑selling opportunities.
• Deliver a high‑quality client experience with timely communication.
• Utilise industry‑leading technology and systems to improve adviser efficiency and client outcomes.

Required profile

• Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or equivalent).
• Experience in paraplanning, mortgage advice, financial planning associate or a similar role.
• Ability to manage a client portfolio and build strong relationships.
• Commitment to maintaining SPS and technical knowledge.

Required skills

• Proficiency with financial planning software and related technology platforms.
