Financial Planning and Analysis Manager

About the role
Lead the strategic financial planning agenda for a large public‑sector organisation, overseeing budget setting, medium‑term financial planning and financial sustainability. Partner with senior leaders to provide expert insight, support transformation initiatives and influence key decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the Medium‑Term Financial Plan.
- Coordinate and oversee the annual budget setting process.
- Provide strategic financial advice to senior executives and key stakeholders.
- Support robust financial governance and effective decision‑making.
- Manage and develop the financial planning and business partnering team.
- Monitor reserves, provisions and corporate budgets.
- Lead statutory and government financial returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Contribute to major transformation programmes, business cases and strategic projects.
- Prepare high‑profile financial reports for senior leadership and governance forums.
- Deputise for senior finance leadership and represent the organisation at external meetings.
Required profile
- Strong experience in financial planning, budgeting and financial management.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Experience operating at senior level and advising executive leaders.
- Thorough understanding of governance, statutory reporting and financial controls.
- Ability to lead teams, drive performance and develop talent.
- Commercial acumen with experience supporting transformation and investment decisions.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting complex financial information.
- Proactive, solution‑focused approach in complex environments.
