Financial Risk Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Risk Analyst to join the second‑line risk function of a specialist life insurer. The role works closely with senior risk, actuarial and investment stakeholders to provide oversight and challenge across credit, ALM and investment activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide oversight and challenge across credit risk, asset‑liability management (ALM) and investment activities.
• Support risk review of BPA transactions, reinsurance arrangements and strategic initiatives.
• Monitor financial risks and contribute to risk reporting for senior committees.
• Support ORSA production and broader Solvency UK activities.
• Participate in internal model validation and risk framework development.
• Work directly with senior stakeholders across risk, actuarial and investment teams.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified actuary or actuarial professional.
• Background in life insurance, investments, pensions or financial risk.
• Good understanding of credit risk, ALM or investment risk.
• Knowledge of the UK regulatory environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide constructive challenge.
• Curious, proactive and keen to broaden risk expertise.
