Finishing Foreman – Social Housing Projects

About the role

As a Finishing Foreman on a social housing development, you will lead the on‑site finishing team to deliver internal and external finishes to the required standards. You will be responsible for quality, safety and timely completion, and will own the snagging and handover process.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out painting, patching, filling and general make‑good of houses.
• Supervise day‑to‑day finishing activities on site.
• Conduct detailed snagging, record, prioritise and close defects.
• Liaise with site management, subcontractors and stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Identify and address defects or practical challenges, proposing solutions.
• Provide regular updates on progress, snagging status and readiness for inspections.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a foreman or supervisor in construction finishing.
• Strong practical knowledge of internal and external finishing techniques.
• Demonstrable experience in quality control and snagging under tight deadlines.
• Solid understanding of on‑site health and safety requirements.
• Confident communication skills for coordinating trades and stakeholders.
• Problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities in a live construction environment.
• Valid CSCS card and NVQ or equivalent qualification.
