Finishing Manager – Assistant Site Manager (South Coast)

About the role

We are seeking a Finishing Manager / Assistant Site Manager to lead the final stages of care home developments on the South Coast. Reporting to the site‑based Project Manager, you will ensure works are delivered safely, on schedule and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day internal works and finishing trades on site.
• Coordinate subcontractors, monitor productivity and ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and programme.
• Conduct quality inspections, oversee snagging processes and drive high presentation standards.
• Support health & safety compliance and assist with site management duties.
• Facilitate sectional completions, client inspections and manage defects through to practical completion and handover.
• Liaise with consultants, subcontractors and the wider site team to ensure smooth project delivery.

Required profile

• Previous experience with a main contractor in a Finishing Manager, Assistant Site Manager or Site Supervisor role.
• Strong understanding of internal fit‑out and finishing packages.
• Excellent eye for quality and ability to manage subcontractors and drive programme performance.
• Experience on residential, healthcare, education or commercial projects is advantageous.
• SMSTS or SSSTS qualification and a valid CSCS card (First Aid qualification preferred).
