FinTech Technology and Investment Director

About the role

The FinTech Technology and Investment Director will lead the evaluation, structuring and technical due‑diligence of FinTech companies and projects targeted for investment, acquisition or strategic partnership. This senior role blends deep operating experience in the FinTech sector with strong software architecture expertise to assess both business and technical viability.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct end‑to‑end analysis of FinTech businesses across payment systems, PSPs, EMIs, BaaS, Open Banking, Digital Banking, Lending, WealthTech, RegTech and Blockchain.
• Build financial models, valuation analyses and scenario testing to produce investment memoranda and recommendations for the Investment Committee.
• Participate in transaction structuring, negotiations, acquisitions and M&A execution.
• Perform comprehensive technical assessments of platforms, covering backend and frontend architecture, APIs, databases, integration layers, cloud infrastructure and DevOps processes.
• Identify architectural weaknesses, technical debt, vendor lock‑in risks and evaluate scalability, performance, resilience and cybersecurity posture.
• Assess engineering team maturity, CTO capability and overall technical leadership.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on experience operating within FinTech organisations.
• Deep expertise in software architecture, product development and technical due‑diligence.
• Proven ability to evaluate investment potential, scalability and risk of FinTech ventures.
• Strong financial modelling, valuation and scenario analysis skills.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting findings to shareholders and investment committees.
