Fire Alarm Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a senior Fire Alarm Engineer to join a leading fire and security services provider. This field‑based position involves overseeing complex fire alarm commissioning projects, diagnosing faults, and guiding on‑site engineering teams. You will work with both addressable and conventional fire alarm systems across a variety of client sites.

Key responsibilities

• Commission addressable and conventional fire alarm systems in line with industry standards.
• Perform advanced fault finding, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Program system logic, cause‑and‑effect functions, and configure networked panel setups.
• Produce accurate commissioning records and technical documentation.
• Support system configuration, diagnostics and optimisation using specialist software.
• Provide on‑site technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.
• Deliver hands‑on training and development sessions for the team.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Fire Alarm Engineer, Fire Systems Engineer, or similar role.
• Proven track record commissioning and fault‑finding complex fire alarm systems.
• Strong technical understanding of system programming and diagnostics.
• Ability to lead, mentor and support other engineers in a senior capacity.
• Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and professional communication.
