Fire Engineering Director

About the role

As the most senior fire engineering professional at Odevo UK, you will define the strategic direction, technical standards and commercial performance of the fire engineering function. The role combines technical authority with leadership of people, business development and risk governance, supporting the UK’s largest residential property management platform.

Key responsibilities

• Set and communicate a clear technical strategy that drives excellence and profitable growth.
• Lead, mentor and expand a multidisciplinary team of fire engineers, technicians and support staff.
• Provide final sign‑off on complex fire designs, assessments and safety strategies.
• Manage commercial performance, including pipeline, utilisation, profitability and cash collection.
• Own key client relationships, shape proposals, support major bids and ensure repeat business.
• Strengthen governance through quality assurance, regulatory compliance, audits and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in fire engineering or fire safety within the construction or property sector.
• Track record of delivering high‑quality, compliant projects on time and within budget.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in forecasting, margin management and cash performance.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to build trusted client relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to develop high‑performing teams and succession plans.
